Alberta Health Services is now seeking such a person with the right qualifications for the role of Electroneurophysiology Technologist II, or EEG Tech in the outstanding City of Calgary!

As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist within the Calgary Zone Adult Neurophysiology Program, you will be primarily stationed at Calgary’s South Health Campus, one of Calgary’s major hospitals. As needed, you will provide EEG support at the Rockyview General Hospital, another major medical centre which treats nearly 220,000 patients annually. Both facilities are exceptional full-service hospitals with a wide range of specialities.

There are three positions available.

Description:

As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist, you will determine which ENP tests to perform based on clinical history, findings, and protocols. You will provide feedback to surgeons for early detection of intraoperative injury, allowing for immediate corrective measures and will resolve unusual or complex cases referred by the EEG Technologist I's or refers them to the appropriate individual(s) You will implement, maintain and assess approved quality control procedures. You will participate in the recruitment and selection of staff and coordinate the orientation of new employees. You will also provide technical and problem solving advice to other EEG Technologists.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduation from a formal electrophysiology program, or equivalent training. Successful completion of Canadian Board of Registration of EEG Technologists (CBRET) examinations or equivalent in addition to either successful completion of the Board of Registration of Electromyography of Canada (BRETC) examinations or successful completion of the Certification Examination in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM). English language fluency to meet ACMDTT policy. Current CPR certification. Proven leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. Exceptional communication skills. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job: prolonged sitting/standing, pushing/pulling of equipment, assisting with patient transfers, sustained awkward postures involved in day-to-day work activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years’ work experience in a Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. ACMDTT ictal SPECT injection enhanced practice authorization desired. EMG experience preferred.
