Your Opportunity:


Take your career one step closer towards Program Supervision with this exciting new challenge! We are looking for passionate and experienced Lead Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs) to support our programs in Edmonton / Leduc. Reporting directly to the Program Supervisor, you will set up children and youth for personal success after their time with CarePros by nurturing their physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being. As the Program Supervisor's right hand, you will exemplify our core values in everything you do. By showcasing your Service Excellence and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) skills, you are a clear model for your fellow CYCWs in day in and day out.


Hours of Work and Rotation:

  • Full-time hours
  • 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Six days on, three days off

    Your Day to Day:


    • Provide daily updates to Program Manager and Supervisor
    • Report critical incidents to Program Supervisor
    • Plan goals with your client(s) and support them in achieving success
    • Flawlessly maintain records. Complete and maintain records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service
    • Compile data for Case Team meetings/stakeholder reporting and submit to Program Supervisor
    • Contribute to program planning (recreation, life skills, cultural, and community connections)
    • Facilitate and coordinate day programming activities (school, employment, and volunteering) and report to Program Supervisor
    • Book and attend various medical appointments (dental, optical, and psychiatry)
    • Attend legal appointments and required follow-up
    • Audit first aid supplies and compile inventory list to submit to Program Supervisor monthly
    • Create menus, keep track of inventory, and maintain weekly shopping/grocery lists
    • Establish relationships with youth to guide and support them through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement
    • Participate in Care Team through ongoing development of care plans and programs

      What You Bring:


      • A minimum of 1 year proven experience supporting youth with complex behavioural and mental health needs is required
      • Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Work is required
      • In-depth knowledge of child and youth care mental wellness, service excellence, therapeutic crisis intervention, and home care best practices
      • Superb execution of documentation requirements for maintaining records and completing forms
      • Intensely strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Valid Class 5 Driver's License, current 10-year Drivers Abstract, a reliable four-door vehicle, and auto insurance with $2-million liability coverage
      • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C + AED (two day in person training completed)
      • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained within the last 6 months
      • Intervention Record Check obtained within the last 6 months
      • Suicide prevention training and/or Mental Health First Aid
