JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Physician Services, the Lead Physician Recruiter's focus is to identify, contact, and attract physicians to join Medicentres Canada Inc. to provide health care services to our patients. The Recruiter will champion our growth strategy, increasing the number of practitioners who work in partnership with Medicentres.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leveraging their own network, working with physician brokers, leveraging leads from existing physicians and staff, working with industry associations or medical schools, and conducting 'cold calls' to develop a pipeline of family physicians or specialists who might be interested in practicing on a part- or full-time basis with Medicentres.
Activities could include (but are not limited to):
  • Regularly visits physicians in our area of interest to determine future plans, and/or interest in becoming a Medicentres partner.
  • Develops recruitment campaigns for physicians and places follow-up calls to proactively source candidates, within and outside our area of operations.
  • Contacts and networks with medical/healthcare associations that represent physicians and full-service clinic operations.
  • Utilizes Medicentres' existing base of physicians to recruit physicians for existing and new clinic locations.
  • Works with Residency programs to determine best practices to develop appropriate recruiting programs to appeal to graduating students.
  • Represents Medicentres and presents physician opportunities at industry events and career fairs.
  • Networks with Canadian and International physician recruiters to identify potential candidates

The Lead Physician Recruiter will also:
  • Lead and work with the Physician Services Team (Local Recruiters and Coordinator) to attract, recruit, contract, and onboard physicians
  • Review trends to identify current physician issues, level of satisfaction and future plans in order to recruit physicians.
  • Working with the Operations Team and Physician Services Team, oversee onboarding and orientation of physicians.
  • Work proactively with the Medicentres business development and operations teams, as well as with the Rexall team, to identify and action priority needs across the business
  • Support additional Business Development and/or Operations projects as requested
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a similar role in physician recruiting or sales
  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to establish rapport and effective working relationships with physicians.
  • Understands and demonstrates customer service and works to build organizational credibility.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented.
  • Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

Fast paced environment, where the ability to manage multiple projects and resources while working on a number of different assignments at the same time and meeting deadlines are essential. Must be able to deliver results and demonstrate good judgment under minimal supervision, in line with existing policies and best practices. High degree of focus on building physician relationships through associations and networking. Extensive regional travel is required, as is infrequent evening and weekend work.
