To provide a high level of patient care as a nurse practitioner while showing strong professional leadership to the medical team. Creating an environment where the delivery of high standards care and safety is undertaken at all times. Mentoring and supervising the care delivery within designated medical centres.
· Maintain standards in line with Provincial governing regulatory body
· Comply with International SOS Standards and Procedures
· Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and customer friendly manner
· Responsible to ensure that all clinical staff on site undertake skills assessment testing in basic life support and other identified clinical skills on an annual basis
· Be familiar with the contractual requirements of occupational health and strive to meet them
· Provide primary care to patients who attend the clinic and oversee the care provided by colleagues
· Prescribe medications to patients in line with the statutory limitations of the qualifications
· Ensure patient records contain documentation that is objective, complete, and recorded in a timely manner
· Ensure all medical staff participate in weekly CME topics
· Conduct daily safety meetings relevant to the clinic, project, and industry-specific topics
· Take responsibility to develop an ongoing training calendar
· Ensure staff are prepared for all types of emergency situations by active participation in all internal scenario type training
· Maintain records of all training in line with the International SOS standards
· Mentor and develop staff skills in a one-on-one situation as required
· Ensure that all new staff receive a full orientation on arrival at site
· Create a culture of learning in the clinic
· Understand equipment maintenance program and participate as appropriate when requested
· Ensure equipment is in good condition and notify the Equipment Department or Client (dependant on ownership) if there is a suspected problem
· Ensure all stock is intact and within date
· Ensure all inventories of pharmacy and consumables are maintained in accordance with the procedure
· Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times in line with International SOS practices
· Ensure adequate supplies of PPE
· Ensure sterilizing practices are consistent with International SOS standards
· Delegate some parts of responsibilities to other relevant staff in order to develop their skills and monitor their professional development
· Participate in scheduled meetings and other activities as requested
· Prepare reports relating to the specific area of responsibility as requested
· Participate in committees or working groups as requested
· Any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time by management
· Assist in the writing of procedures as requested from time to time
· Participate actively in the continuous quality improvement program through: identification of risk in daily activities, creation of a participative workforce in identifying areas where improvement can be made, participation in CQI meetings to improve outcomes
· Prepare reports as requested on quality issues
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
• Work experience as a Nurse Practitioner
• Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
• Leadership experience, education or professional development
• Current registration with CARNA
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, holding a Master of Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preference for:
• Experience in an industrial, emergency or critical care setting and experience with health surveillance testing and programs
• A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
• Technical knowledge of health and wellness programs, standards and processes, including disability case management, return to work programs, medical surveillance and wellness programs
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
• Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
• You will work out of our camp-based client site. Accommodations & meals provided
• The working schedule will be 14 days on and 14 days off rotation
• On-call and extended hours may be required after hours when operational and business requirements indicate
• You may be required to travel to other sites
