Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a lasting impact in the lives of children and youth? Join CarePros as a Working Program Supervisor where you'll lead, mentor, and support a team of Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs) while working onsite in one of our programs in the Edmonton area. We have two full-time roles available: one temporary 6 month contract and one permanent.

This position is hands-on, contributing to ratio while ensuring exceptional care, safety, and developmental support for children and youth. You will lead by example, collaborating with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to create a nurturing environment for those we serve.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to CYCWs, ensuring they deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care
  • Support program operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow organization
  • Deliver direct care by actively working on-site with children and youth
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching to enhance team effectiveness
  • Complete Critical Incident Reports and ensure compliance with policies
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including Children's Services, FSCD, and PDD, to coordinate care and support services
  • Collaborate with internal departments (People & Culture, Finance, Communications) to ensure operational success
  • Provide on-call support as needed to maintain smooth program operations

Hours of Work & Rotation

Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Rotation: 6 days on, 3 days off
Flexibility: Must be available for on-call support in the evenings and weekends


Who You Are

You are a passionate, dedicated leader with a strong background in children's services and a deep understanding of trauma-informed care. You bring both experience and empathy, fostering an environment where children and youth can thrive.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role within front-line care
  • 5+ years of experience working with Children's Services, FSCD, or PDD
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health concerns
  • Post-secondary education in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Community Addictions & Mental Health, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of mental wellness, CPR/First Aid, and home care best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor staff and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Ability to manage critical incidents, scheduling, and team performance effectively
  • A high level of self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and adaptability

Additional Requirements

  • Class 5 Alberta Driver's License + valid vehicle insurance & a clear Alberta 10 year Driver's Abstract
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C + AED
  • Clear Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) - within last 3 months
  • Intervention Record Check - within last 3 months
