This position provides basic necessities and ongoing supports with the goal of increasing the capacity of individuals and families to meet their needs over the long term. This is achieved by addressing the social, physical, mental, and spiritual needs of those who are seeking aid and assistance from or have been referred to The Salvation Army.
· Assess the client's emotional, physical, social, and mental needs as per The Salvation Army's guidelines.
· Support and develop client's emotional, physical, social, and mental needs according to The Salvation Army's Social Services Accreditation Standards and the Code of Ethics.
· Liaise with appropriate community agencies, conduct referrals and advocate for the client, addressing his/her needs remaining within The Salvation Army policy.
· Support and develop client understanding of peers in a social setting according to The Salvation Army's Social Services Accreditation Standards.
· Ensure the client has the information and documentation required to complete course of action to meet their needs.
· Complete accurate and comprehensive documentation relevant to the client as per TSA policy and procedure. This would include, but not limited to, application forms, referral forms, and case notes.
· Record and maintain relevant client information in CMS.
Program:
· Participate in staff meetings as directed by CRC Supervisor
· Attend relevant workshops & training as approved by the CRC Supervisor
. Oversee the Hot Meal Program which includes oversight of the premises; procurement of food according to the menus; ensuring quality and quantity standards are met, remaining within budget guidelines, preparation of food meeting TSA policy and Canada Food Guide requirements and, schedule of the volunteers
· Participate as required in the Bridge and Loan Program which may include the initial interview, procuring and confirming the appropriate information, presenting the case to the Community Approval Committee and, follow through with the decision
· Participate as required in the Community Warmth Program which may include the initial interview, procuring and confirming the appropriate information, presenting the case to the Community Approval Committee and, follow through with the decision
· Ensure all daily activities meet best practice, safety and licensing standards
· Assist and support the Community Wellness Programs under the direction of the CRC Supervisor.
