The Janitor is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.

As a Janitor your typical day will impact the following ways:
• Clean snow and ice from entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
• Provide plant care / watering.
• Maintain sidewalk cleanliness using a blower.
• Perform garbage pick-up per assigned schedule.
• Ensure proper lighting and maintenance (e.g., light bulb changing) in the facility
• Provide proper plumbing care (i.e. toilette repair / plunging).
• Keep shelves stacked with supplies.
• Floor polishing or buffing and carpet spot cleaning.
• Providing housekeeping services in the resident care rooms and common areas in accordance with the established work routines.
• Providing personal laundry services for care residents in accordance with established work routines.
• Ensuring residents are provided with a secure living environment. This includes patrolling the building and investigating any building access violations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Must haves:
• Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• Building Service Worker Certificate, Institutional Aide Certificate and/or Basic Food Safe Certificate.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
