Langley Memorial Hospital and the surrounding Health Service Area are looking for a Geriatrician to join our team in beautiful British Columbia!

Langley is one of the fast-growing communities in BC’s Lower Mainland with a diverse economy, superb education, and a vibrant community. About 40 km from Vancouver, Langley is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including the Coast Mountains and Fraser River, which provide many opportunities for outdoor activities. Langley Memorial Hospital is a community hospital with a wide range of services.

Fraser Health is one of Canada’s largest health authorities, serving over one third of the population in British Columbia. The Department of Geriatrics in Fraser Health is a diverse group of geriatricians and care of the elderly physicians serving a large region. Our hospitals are affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and offer opportunities for clinical practice, as well as teaching and academic research.

This is a Full Time Permanent position (1.0 FTE) expanding existing geriatric services at a site with an already active specialized interdisciplinary geriatric outpatient team and a strong inpatient consultation service. This involves consultative inpatient activities at Langley Memorial Hospital and ambulatory practice. There is no expected weekend or evening call. The successful candidate will join our current geriatric medicine physicians in Langley and contribute to academic and teaching components of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for or active FRCPC Geriatric Medicine
  • Eligibility for or active full license to practice in BC
  • Strong collaborative interpersonal and interdisciplinary skills
  • Eligibility to apply for a clinical faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia.

Availability: As soon as possible

Facility: Langley Memorial Hospital is a community hospital with 195 acute beds offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatry, critical care, ambulatory care as well as 24/7 emergency services with 45,000 visits annually.
