Job Summary | The School of Health Sciences invites applications for an instructor in the Pharmacy Technician Diploma Program. This program is CCAPP accredited and delivered using a blend of online theory courses, face-to-face lab classes and practicum in both community and hospital pharmacy environments. |
Skills & Qualifications | Main Duties and Responsibilities • Provide instruction to Pharmacy Technician students in both online and lab environments • Evaluate students in both online and lab environments • Develop and maintain curriculum • Effectively collaborates with the Associate Dean and with program colleagues • Actively contribute to the college, school and program • Maintain positive relationships with the Associate Dean, program colleagues, other members of the College, and members of our communities as a whole • Will also meet the major accountabilities as documented in the college instructor job description Skills, Knowledge and Abilities • Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate students • Excellent communication skills; classroom management and leadership skills • Ability to contribute to School and/or College initiatives and a commitment to continuous learning • Working knowledge of Kroll dispensing software • Familiarity with hospital dispensing software • Experience applying the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in Canada, including Compounding of Non-Sterile Preparations. Education and Experience • A Pharmacy Technician certificate or diploma from a CCAPP accredited program and currently regulated as a Pharmacy Technician in British Columbia • Current practice in a community or hospital pharmacy environment, working to full scope of practice including non-sterile compounding of dosage forms including topical creams, ointments, gels, oral solutions, suspensions, and capsules, lip balms, and suppositories. • Three to four years teaching experience in a post-secondary environment, and teaching across the curriculum • An equivalent combination of education and experience Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience and contributions, teaching experience, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question. |
