(abm), a Vancouver-based biotech company, is rapidly expanding and looking for a Lab Assistant to join our innovative Cell Biology team. Are you the right candidate?

You will coordinate with the team leader and work to control quality and propagate cell lines. You will forecast and plan requirements with the team leader to ensure that inventory for internal use is in place to meet project demands, and communicate effectively with managers, supervisors and other departments. You are a motivated team player with the demonstrated ability to provide effective quality assurance with lab techniques in the department.

Key Responsibilities

As Lab Assistant, you will:

• Support cell culturing and other standard procedures in the Cell Biology department
• Assist the Custom Order team in generating and quality-controlling new cell line products
• Perform general lab maintenance and uphold high-quality standards
  

Qualifications

• Education: College diploma or bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields
• Experience: Previous experience, such as a co-op term, is preferred. Mammalian cell culture experience is a plus
• Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication for team collaboration
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Keen interest in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or relevant fields

Work Location

• This is an onsite position at our headquarters in Richmond, BC.
• Candidates must be available to work onsite from the start date. No relocation allowance is provided.
