Hours:

  • Week 1: Saturday - Tuesday, 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM (Nights)
  • Week 2: Sunday - Tuesday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Days)
  • UNTIL THE RETURN OF INCUMBENT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assumes responsibility for the delivery of care for each resident, ensuring that all personal and nursing care is provided in accordance with the mission of The Salvation Army, agency, regulatory and established ethical guidelines, and requirements.
  2. Monitors the treatment regime and health status including physical, emotional, and psychological needs to ensure the safety and well-being of the resident.
  3. Performs nursing care to residents including administering prescribed medication and treatments, and observing, recording, and reporting symptoms and changes in resident condition.
  4. Carries out established procedures to prepare facility's equipment and supplies.
  5. Provides caring environment to residents and families including facilitating participation of resident and family in care plans.
  6. Maintains pertinent records and ensures all documentation is accurate and complete
  7. Participates in professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge and practice.
  8. Maintains relationships with all external health agencies, professionals, and the community.
  9. Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or equivalency.
  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.

Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years' related work experience.
  • Direct experience in hospice/palliative care preferred.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
