Addictions Medicine Opportunities

Fraser Health Department of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services has opportunities for physicians to join our team! Several opportunities throughout the region are available as a result of Fraser Health’s rapidly expanding addiction services. We are a close knit, collaborative and friendly group of providers who genuinely enjoy the work that we do. There are opportunities with varying time commitments including full time, part time and occasional.

Opportunities include:

1. Addiction Medicine Consult Teams, Locum – hospital based consult service. Location: SMH, RCH, BH
2. Fraser East RAAC clinic – outpatient clinic. Location: Abbotsford/Mission/Chilliwack.
3. Roshni Clinic, Locum – outpatient addiction clinic providing services to patients of the South Asian diaspora

Qualifications:

We are looking for physicians who demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for providing low barrier and equitable access to evidence based and evidence informed addiction medicine services. We are open to providing additional mentorship to those physicians who feel they may require additional support.

The candidate must have an active license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC. They must have completed the BCCSU Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program. Completion of Addiction Medicine Enhanced Skills or Fellowship Programs may be required for certain positions within the department. All physicians are expected to be well versed with provincial and national addiction medicine practice guidelines Experience providing full-scope addiction medicine services, ISAM or ABAM certification, or CCFP(AM) are beneficial.
