As a Leader, Practice Education, Adoption and Transformation with an Education Focus, you will:
- Use evidence-informed practice and education theory to provide consultation, guidance, and direction to an assigned portfolio, in the planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of education deliverables.
- Lead a team of Instructional Designers / Content Developers in the creation of education materials, including but not limited to, online courses (eLearns), video tutorials, quick reference guides/cards, instructor manuals, and clinical scenarios.

Detailed Overview
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Reporting to the Manager, Practice Education, Adoption, and Transformation, the Leader is a member of the Practice Education, Adoption, and Transformation leadership team and is accountable to lead the planning, design, and organization for practice education, learning technologies, competency resource development, and transformation strategies to enable the adoption of CIS (Clinical Information System) and digital health tools to ensure a seamless, digitally enabled patient and provider experience. This role provides oversight, leadership, and supervision of the team planning, coordinating, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of education programs and ongoing quality improvement deliverables to meet the needs of clinical and medical staff related to the use of CIS (Clinical Information System) and digital health solutions. Working within a dynamic and evolving environment, ensures the development of a regional education and transformation program including the development and assessment of the digital health learning strategy, education programs, and educational resources.
Responsibilities
- Key leadership role in collaboration with clinical nurse specialists, educators, clinical practice leaders, provider experience team to deliver a regional education and practice adoption and transformation program to enable the adoption of CIS and digital health tools.
- Strategic liaison with Clinical Informatics, Clinical Solutions, Information Technology (others), Professional Practice, The Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation, Learning and Research and other key stakeholders within their designated area of responsibility in relation to needs of staff and providers, including post-secondary students.
- Leads the development and roll out of effective learning and adoption strategies.
- Leads the review and development of standards, policies, protocols and processes for the design and delivery of education on the use of technology in practice utilizing evidence informed education theory to inform curriculum development and delivery across specialties.
- Leads the implementation of a competency-based framework and evaluation strategy to ensure training results in end users' proficiency and adoption of the CIS.
- Implements, manages, and assumes responsibility for approved capital and operating budgets taking corrective actions, as necessary. Monitors expenditures and performs variance analysis and reporting.
- Supervises staff, establishing clear definitions of responsibility for each team member; reviews workload assignments and adjusts resources according to workload. Selects, directs, evaluates, disciplines, and terminates staff in accordance with policies. Establishes work expectations and evaluates performance. Acts as a mentor for the practice education team and provides coaching where required.
- Provides oversight and supports the functions of the team to ensure data quality standards are being assessed and continuous improvements are being made to meet the standards. This includes error correction/data integrity activities and audit processes to ensure quality data collection and system efficiency.

- Develops an evaluation process that includes identification of key performance indicators (KPIs), data collection, analysis, monitoring system reports, and sharing, and escalation of these as appropriate at the program/specialty level. Uses these measures to monitor adoption and transform clinical practices.
- Maintains familiarity with learning, adoption, and transformation strategies developments in the healthcare industry and participates in advising on implementation of related standards, tools, and processes.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a school of nursing or allied health discipline. Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Health Sciences Profession. Five (5) years recent, related clinical education and leadership experience in the health care sector including experience with electronic clinical systems, leading major clinical or quality improvement initiatives in a large, complex heath care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current practicing registration with an applicable regulatory body such as the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.

- Provides education leadership, guidance, and support to Practice Education, Adoption, and Transformation team members through coaching, guiding, and modeling key behaviors/strategies, encouraging dialogue and problem solving and providing guidance and advice to facilitate resolutions to education issues.
- Strong knowledge of clinical process, workflows, clinical services delivery, and patient/client satisfaction determinants, and of the applicable standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.
- Strong understanding of clinical information and data and how these are managed and operationalized within the clinical information system to create knowledge. Possesses a solid awareness of contemporary trends in clinical practice and information systems.
- Works collaboratively with internal partners such as Clinical Informatics and external partners such as Nursing, Allied Health and Medicine schools, third-party vendors and other Health Authorities to identify education needs and priorities, and individually or as leader of a team, plans, implements and evaluates strategies to meet those needs.
- Contributes to the development, implementation, and maintenance of competency-based models for orientation and continuing education of staff. Responsible for the development and updating of resources to support such education to assure staff competency and development.
- Develops partnerships with Learning and Research team to support student education and preceptor support at FH (Fraser Health).
- Proven ability to apply systems and critical thinking in a complex multi-disciplinary environment involving provider, nursing, and clinician communities.
- Exercises initiative, self-direction and problem-solving abilities to identity gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Uses effective facilitation, communication, and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, achieve desired outcomes, and address potential barriers to success.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment and use current computer applications (MS Office, etc.) and computerized healthcare applications.
