The Fraser Health Authority, in collaboration with the UBC Department of Medical Genetics, is seeking two Clinical Genetics Specialist to fill a new vacancy. These full-time funded positions will involve a variety of clinical care and academics. Clinical work will include pre-conception, antenatal, neonatal, and pediatric care for both inpatients and outpatients as well as supervision of Genetic Counselors. Clinical faculty appointment in the department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia is recommended.
In addition to providing evidence based clinical care in medical genetics, the candidates will have demonstrated success in clinical teaching and have interest and/or experience in health care administration, quality assurance and/or clinical research. The candidates will be involved in expanding tertiary medical genetics services within Fraser Health and will need to participate in the ongoing process of designing and strengthening the service. Strong communication skills and desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment are key attributes for this position.
Fraser Health encompasses some of the fasted growing and diverse populations in Canada. Stretching from Burnaby to Hope, it is home to approximately 17,000 births per year. It encompasses two tertiary level hospitals with level 3 NICUs and a state-of-the-art outpatient facility. The beautiful Fraser Valley exhibits all that British Columbia has to offer with beautiful mountain vistas, beaches and a plethora of outdoor activities.
