The Fraser Health Authority (FHA), British Columbia's and Canada’s largest and fastest growing health region serving a population of 1.7 million is seeking two qualified 1.0/0.7 FTE Neonatologists at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH).
The Neonatologists will be part of the 1:8 rotation. As a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatrics, UBC. They will also be expected to participate in developing the point of care neonatology programs at SMH.
The successful candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- must demonstrate evidence of sufficient clinical experience in all areas of Neonatology.
- must be certified in TNEcho with the privilege to sign off Echocardiography studies.
- must be expert in Neonatal Point of Care (POCUS ) ultrasound.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in teaching and clinical policies development will be considered as an asset.
Surrey Memorial Hospital is located in the heart of the Fraser Health region has 48 beds single room NICU, of which 32 beds are in operation with the future expansion to full capacity. We currently manage 4,200 births per year and have recently opened a new tower with a 46-bed single room maternity care unit, a 48 bed single room Level 2/3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a dedicated maternal operating room. The brand new ER includes a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, part of the state-of the art Critical Care Tower includes a dedicated perinatal centre, helipad and expanded ICU.
