The Surrey Thoracic Surgery Group at Surrey Memorial Hospital, serving the Fraser Health Authority in the Greater Vancouver area, located in beautiful British Columbia is seeking a sixth partner to join the existing team of five thoracic surgeons. Our group serves a large metropolitan area of over 2 million people, providing all general thoracic surgical services excepting lung transplantation. The program is largely an advanced MIS program. Greater than 98% of our surgical volume is undertaken by minimally invasive surgical techniques. We also have a growing advanced endoscopy program offering EBUS, EUS, POEM, RFA and ESD. We are expected to have a Robotic Program, starting September of 2025.
We are seeking a dynamic surgeon with commitment to clinical and academic excellence. We are affiliated with the University of British Columbia, and train medical students and residents. In addition to the Royal College residency in thoracic surgery, we also have a clinical fellowship program in advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgery. All surgeons have faculty appointments at UBC and are actively involved in formal didactic and clinical medical education. We have two Nurse Practitioners and we are in the process of having two Associate Physicians as part of our team. We also have a dedicated clinical research nurse coordinator. We share a practice with shared office space and central intake of all referrals.
