Job Summary
The BC Primary Health Care Research Network (BC-PHCRN) is one network node of the Canadian Primary Care Research Network (CPCRN) meant to support evidence-informed transformation of the delivery of primary and integrated health care specifically in BC. The goal of the network is to encourage, facilitate, and support collaborations between government, health authorities, health professionals, patients and researchers in the area of primary care research
The BC-PHCRN Data Quality Coordinator supports research projects by monitoring and working directly with de-identified electronic medical record data in a health research setting. The Data Quality Coordinator will interpret extracted health data, frequently review data quality, identify causes of poor data outputs, and develop feedback reports for the BC-PHCRN research team and individual physician offices. Ability to multi-task and excellent interpersonal skills required.
Organizational Status
Reporting to Drs. Sabrina Wong and Rubee Dev of the BC PHCRN, the Data Quality Coordinator will collaborate with the Information and Technology Manager, as well as work closely with the director of the pan-Canadian EMR repository, Dr. Ayat Salman. The Data Quality Coordinator will also work collaboratively with other data managers and research assistants across the Network to communicate and troubleshoot data quality issues, and participate in regular teleconferences and face-to-face meetings.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
This position requires high degree of accuracy and discretion. The Data Quality Coordinator will be working with sensitive personal health information, so any errors and or inappropriate judgment could jeopardize the research project, reputation of the research team, Centre and the University as a whole.

Works under general direction within established policies, procedures and standards. Work reviewed against task objectives and conformity to standards
Supervision Given
The Data Quality Coordinator will not oversee other staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
