Our team and what we'll accomplish together

Kinesiologists play a key role in our team environment; primarily they focus on fitness testing and feedback sessions as part of the Client Health Assessments. The Kinesiologist will provide exemplary care and service to our clients in accordance with practice standards. The Kinesiologist will liaise with other clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure safe and effective delivery of our services.

What you'll do

  • Provides clients with advice and recommendations according their health assessments
  • Performs physical assessments (VO2 max, FMS, body composition by bio-impedance, etc.)
  • Conduct ECG and stress tests including setting up electrodes/wires, blood pressure monitoring
  • Review and print results from stress and resting ECG's
  • Confer professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
  • Monitor patient safety throughout the test, including using defibrillator when required
  • Conduct fitness testing (flexibility and sit and reach tests)
  • Perform vision, hearing, spirometry, audio and other testing and clinic-related tasks as required
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and related tasks for occupational health clients
  • Ensuring maintenance and availability of equipment as required by norms and regulations
  • Respond promptly to emergencies
  • Provide feedback, fitness related information to clients, as well as answer any questions they may have
  • Flexible to travel to off-site locations when required

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics or Kinesiology and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting
  • CSEP or ACSM certifications will be considered an asset
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions affecting patient care
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, while delivering highest level of patient care
  • Experience and interest in preventative health and education with desire for growth
  • Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Work well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing time-sensitive tasks
  • Demonstrates flexibility in order to travel to off-site client locations as required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
