The Provincial Practice Lead provides leadership on a provincial level to further the advancement of breast imaging practice consistent with the standards set by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR), and Health Canada. The Provincial Practice Lead will be responsible for chairing and organizing working groups under the Provincial Medical Imaging Office (PMIO), and is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive plans to improve breast imaging access in the province.
Supporting the PMIO and serving all the BC Health Authorities (HA), this role provides clinical practice and guidance in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family-centered care model and the vision and values of the organization. The Provincial Practice Lead works in a team-based environment and is accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of practice standards for Breast Imaging within Medical Imaging. Provides provincial leadership, direction and guidance on practice activities and advancing practice, research, and education. Accountabilities include reviewing and implementing consistent practice standards, goals and objectives in conjunction with designated management, radiologists, and other team members and leading the development and standardization of breast imaging-specific policies and procedures, quality assurance, continuing education and training programs, inclusive of coordinating service delivery with HA partners and implementing initiatives that improve access to breast imaging across the province.
The Provincial Practice Lead provides technical leadership and expertise to support efficient and effective operations at a department level while thinking strategically to address system-wide improvements, which may include advising on the technical aspects of equipment and clinical impacts; budget planning, including staffing standards; imaging software, and equipment maintenance, repairs and replacement; establishing and monitoring technical quality assurance activities; and advising centres on issues related to technologist productivity, client relation/interaction, screening appointment scheduling, technical staff training and quality management.

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Salary Range: $$88,990 - $127,923 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
