Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Sonographer will perform ultrasound examinations (abdominal) while observing patient safety practices. You will also liaise with other clinic staff, physicians and administrators to ensure effective delivery of our services.

What you'll do:

  • Receive and complete requisitions, enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system and prepare patients for specific procedures
  • Gather and verify patient history and relevant information prior to beginning scan
  • Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS' policies
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scan
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of PACS
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized and safe workspace
  • Comply with patient safety and confidentiality policies
  • Perform related clerical and administrative duties as necessary

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program, or equivalent
  • Current Sonography Canada registration in good standing
  • CPR and WHMIS certification(s) would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with PACS and GE ultrasound equipment is beneficial
  • Effective decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a dynamic team
  • Commitment to providing high quality patient care and customer service is essential
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and ability to work well under pressure
