JOB PROFILE:
Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for cleaning the facility and laundering the residents and facility belongings; ensuring all safety and other requirements are maintained, including Manitoba Health Standards; and Lions Housing Centres standards are met including:

Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to residents, staff, and facility operations.
Practices in a manner that supports the Respectful Workplace Policy.
Participates in mandatory annual education.
Work collaboratively with all staff as required.
Your education and qualifications include:
Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
Minimum 1 year housekeeping and laundry experience in a Long-Term Care, Supportive Housing and Independent Living setting; or commercial cleaning experience is preferred.
Knowledge of WHMIS applicable to Housekeeping/ Laundry.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, lift and reach continuously throughout the entire shift. Ability to lift approximately 50 Ibs.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the safe operation of cleaning equipment used at Lions Housing Centres preferred
Good organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements.
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English is required.
Good physical and mental health to meet the requirements of the position, including the ability to climb ladders
Able to carry out duties in a professional manner, working under minimum or no supervision, and in compliance with confidentiality requirements of Lions Housing Centres and its Residents
Presents a courteous, cooperative and professional manner to both Residents and Staff while performing duties.
Must maintain a clean, neat appearance, in accordance with Lions Housing Centres Inc. dress code.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
