McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Fitness Coordinator to support our McCain In-Motion and EastSide Gym facilities located in Florenceville-Bristol, NB. This role reports to the Director, River Valley Strategy, McCain Foods Limited.

The Fitness Coordintoar is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the EastSide Gym which includes providing exceptional customer service and supervising use of facilities while providing clients with the necessary information to build a healthier lifestyle.

Required working hours for this position:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)

• Flexibility required based on promotions and program offerings

What you'll do:

  • Supervise facility and members/guests by implementing compliance with rules, regulations and procedures
  • Actively promote membership & programs as well as interacting and communicating effectively with members/guests
  • Develop and implement fitness programs tailored to the needs of employees and community members (monitor and evaluate making necessary adjustments as required)
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all members and participants creating an enjoyable and welcoming environment
  • Lead the organization and promotion of fitness events and activities related to both the fitness area and tennis court
  • Stay current with fitness trends and best practices providing knowledge to members of safe practices when using equipment.
  • Collaborate with other wellness professionals to provide comprehensive wellness services.
  • Provide safe and effective spotting when necessary
  • Manage cash/debit/credit as well as membership forms, program registration, etc.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment, change rooms and washrooms.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or Certification from a recognized fitness organization.
  • Proven experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience working in a fitness facility.
  • Certified Personal Trainer or in the process of obtaining certification (or willing to obtain within the first 12 months of employment).
  • Strong knowledge of fitness principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement fitness programs.
  • Passion for health and wellness.
  • Point of Sale knowledge, experience working with debit/credit transactions and technology (Considered an asset)
  • First Aid/A.E.D./CPR certification (Considered an asset)

  • Must be in good physical condition
  • The employee is frequently required to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening. Employee must be able to talk and hear.
  • Frequently requires walking, bending, pushing, reaching and lifting
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate
