The Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) department is responsible for ensuring that instruments used for medical procedures are cleaned and sterilized using strict industry guidelines and best practices. As an MDR Technician or Assistant, you are ensuring that medical professionals have access to the tools they need to provide healthcare to New Brunswickers.

What you will do

As a MDR Technician, you will perform a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing, and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for various areas of the hospital.

As a MDR Assistant, under the guidance of a certified MDR Technician, you will learn how to process reusable supplies, instruments, and equipment in accordance with the principles of infection control, decontamination, sterilization, and aseptic technique.

Who you are

You posses a high school diploma (or equivalent). As a MDR Assistant, upon commencement of this position you will enter into the MDR certification process.

For MDR Technicians, a current certification from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is required.
