Refinery:

As a Lab Technician Student at our Refinery, you will perform testing on petroleum products and assist with routine tasks in the Refinery Lab. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team of 40 technicians who handle all products coming to and leaving the Refinery. This position may be Monday - Friday (8 hour Days) or Shift work (12 hour shifts days and nights).

Irving Blending and Packaging:

As the Lab Technician Student at Irving Blending and Packaging, you will be responsible for testing the raw materials and finished products at our Blending & Packaging facility. In this role you will work alongside 5 technicians and assist with used oil analysis testing. This testing will include viscosities, titrations, and sample preparation. You will also have the opportunity to complete pilot blends on new formulations.

This position will be Monday - Friday (8 hours shifts).

Your Skills:

  • Ability to work within a team environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience with Excel is an asset
  • Valid Canadian driver's license

Your Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in Chemical Technology or science related field of study
  • Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
