JOB PURPOSE

The Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing the zone safety program and for coordinating the activities required to meet Laboratory quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree or a graduate of a school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Must be registered with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and licensed and in good standing (a practicing member) with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
  • Must have three years of related experience.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to quality and safety
  • Identifying, monitoring and reporting on quality and safety indicators
  • Developing and/or performing quality and safety audits
  • Leading or participating in initiatives to support quality improvement and to promote lab safety
  • Developing and implementing orientation and training sessions
  • Investigating and responding to incidents
  • Overseeing the document control system
