JOB PURPOSE
This is a senior clinical social worker in the Addiction and Mental Health field and the Clinical Consultation Model is the framework which guides the interventions and philosophy of his/her work. A Senior Clinical Social Worker/Clinical Mentor is a social worker with several years of experience working with children and youth with complex needs. This experienced social worker can work autonomously to provide clinical leadership and guidance to other health care professionals, external partners and stakeholders, on the delivery of programs and services involving complex cases and/or specific subspeciality areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A University degree in Social Work.
- Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.
- Must have five years of clinical experience in community addiction and/or mental health.
- Demonstrated leadership ability is also required
- Must have proof of a valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of this job may include:
- Completing clinical assessments and providing feedback on the results of the assessments or treatment.
- Work may also include providing advanced clinical and resource advice to other addictions and mental health care teams, acting as a liaison between clinical teams and other partners, leading case conferences and providing recommendations on individual treatment plans.
- Employees of this classification will also build relationships with various partners and provide them with addiction and mental health education and knowledge transfer, as well as assist them in navigating the addiction and mental health system.
- Work may be performed in institutional and/or community-based settings, is oriented to partner/stakeholder needs, and may require active participation on teams.
- Employees of this classification may be required to provide guidance, training and orientation to other staff, students and other health care professionals.
N.B. These job duties are the basic and prime duties of the job; related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the service.
