ABOUT US

The Faculty of Nursing at Memorial University of Newfoundland offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Nursing (four-year and accelerated options), a Master of Science in Nursing (practicum and nurse practitioner options), a Post Master's Nurse Practitioner Graduate Diploma, and a PhD in Nursing. Recently, the undergraduate program underwent revision, implementing a concept-based curriculum.

As Newfoundland and Labrador's only university, Memorial plays an integral role in the provinces education and cultural life. POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer (SAO), the successful candidate will foster a culture of consultation and collaboration across the undergraduate and graduate programs. Particular focus will be on the BScN (Collaborative) Program and accreditation oversight/monitoring, to ensure alignment across all sites. The incumbent will implement strategies to enhance service delivery, drive continuous improvement, and facilitate professional development initiatives for faculty and staff at both the undergraduate and graduate levels

DUTIES

  • Benchmarking: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices; and developing an annual benchmarking model (report card) for the Faculty of Nursing's Strategic Plan, Leading Excellence.
  • Accreditation: Coordinating accreditation processes; preparing documentation; facilitating site visits; and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements set by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).
  • Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development of strategic plans by providing guidance, conducting environmental scans, and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • IT Investment Projects Oversight: Coordinating IT investment projects within the Faculty and ensuring alignment with program needs and strategic objectives.
  • Faculty & Staff Onboarding: Overseeing onboarding processes for new faculty and staff and ensuring their smooth integration into the Faculty's programs and culture.
  • Business Continuity: Developing a repository of templates, processes, and service delivery plans to promote efficiency and consistency across Faculty operations; and managing these templates in Memorial's Incident Management System (MIMS).
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management: Supporting the SAO by guiding staff and faculty in service excellence initiatives; developing improvement models and facilitating training; and assisting with change management by leading process reviews, benchmarking, and coordinating workshops to engage stakeholders and communicate key initiatives.
  • Learning and Professional Development: Ensuring faculty and staff have the necessary skills and support by coordinating professional development opportunities and facilitating continuous learning.
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism (EDI-AR) and Indigenous Initiatives: Collaborating with Faculty employees, Memorial University, and community partners to ensure all activities reflect an EDI-AR approach, fostering a culturally inclusive environment.
  • Workshops and Meeting Facilitation: Organizing and facilitating workshops, retreats, and meetings to support strategic goals and change management initiatives, and ensure meaningful engagement and successful outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (5-7 years) in quality improvement, professional development, and change management; completion of an undergraduate degree, supplemented by specialized training or coursework towards a master's degree in business administration, or a related field is required; or any combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Lean methodology, accreditation, and benchmarking processes. Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills; as well as the ability to work collaboratively, in a diverse academic environment, with a strong commitment to consultation and collaboration within the Faculty of Nursing.

SALARY $66,092 - $90,126 per annum (Management and Professional)

An upscale hiring step will apply to this position (Step 8)
