About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining and calibrating life support and other medical devices as well as maintaining medical computers and networks. The Biomedical Engineering Technologist also assists in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists and other technical staff as well as performing safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Successful completion of a two-year course in Electronics Engineering Technology (accredited diploma) required

  • Must be registered or eligible to be registered with TechNova as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) within two (2) years of hire

  • Must have access to reliable transportation

  • Must have working knowledge/training of electronics with the ability to understand the operation and have manual skills required to repair, calibrate, perform safety, performance routine inspections on electronic, electrical, mechanical and optical equipment, devices, systems and instruments

  • Certification as a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(C)) with the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists and Technicians is required for achievement of step 5 of the pay scale for this position

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$28.89 - $38.67 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $10,000.00 annually. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
