The Clinical Psychologist reports to the Health Services Manager or designate, and works under the direction of the Clinical Lead to effectively provide empirically supported assessment and treatment services to adults who have crossed legal sexual boundaries. The Forensic Sexual Behaviour Program (FSBP) offers specialized assessment and treatment services to individuals in Nova Scotia whose sexual behaviour has crossed legal boundaries. Treatment is currently being offered at four sites across the province (Kentville, Dartmouth, Truro and Sydney), whereas assessment is primarily centralized in Dartmouth where the coordination of FSBP services for the province is based.
The Psychologist provides evidenced-based services while enhancing community safety. Duties include the facilitation of specialized group treatment, completion of forensic risk/needs assessments, involvement in program development and quality improvement activities, supervision of practicum students, and participation in team meetings and case consultations.
