Description

The Christmas Support Worker provides support to the Community and Family Services during the Christmas season on a temporary basis. The purpose of this position is to support the Christmas Assistance Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and Process Christmas Applications from clients requesting Christmas Assistance
  • Input data into software programs ensuring accuracy, correct spelling, etc.
    • Work with Jotform, Link2Feed and other software programs [training will be given]
    • Provide to the client all information that is pertaining to receive Christmas Assistance
    • Answer phones, emails and support in-person registrations
    • Assist with other Christmas activities as required
  • Support Community and Family Services Programs as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a grade 12 certificate
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive professional and helpful attitude
  • Ability to do systematic organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Honest, courteous, and punctual; represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
  • Must be flexible and teachable
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
  • Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills

TIME & PLACE:

Hours of work are from 8:30am to 4:00 pm (Monday - Friday) with a ½ hour of unpaid lunch.

Two 15 minute paid breaks. There may be a need to work on evenings and weekends.

Work Term begins October 14, 2024 to December 20, 2024.
