The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.
Reporting to the Manager, the Learning Institute, the Nurse Educator is responsible for program and curriculum design: assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating learning and education programs. The Nurse Educator takes a leadership role in facilitating and promoting a culture of excellence in competency-based education to enable successful transition to practice, practice progression, and learner-centred outcomes.
The Nurse Educator, with Nursing Instructors, Clinical Nurse Educators, and Clinical Leaders, plays a significant role in building capacity through competency based educational strategies to support, develop and contribute to the translation of knowledge, skills and abilities while advancing practice. The Nurse Educator has the primary responsibility to design, maintain and deliver educational programming for nursing and interprofessional programs using classroom, simulation, and online/distance learning strategies. The Nurse Educator practices according to the Registered Nurses Act, Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and Standards of Practice of Registered Nurses.
This position will support the Perioperative Nursing Program with a particular focus on blended learning.
Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. A valid driver's license and access to transportation is required.

$52.46 - $63.36 hourly
$102,302 - $123,555 annually
$65.58 hourly ($127,880 annually) with 25 years' nursing experience.
