Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
Casual teaching position in preclinical radiology in the undergraduate Dental Hygiene programs as assigned by the Director. DEHY 2829 - Radiology I - Fall 2025/Winter 2026 course includes the technical and theoretical aspects of dental radiography, the hazards and safety of radiation, as well as interpretation of radiographic images for dental hygiene care. Course material will be presented through lectures, small group activities and laboratory sessions. Laboratory sessions will include a "hands on" portion that allows students to take dental images using prototype heads. The principles of digital imaging will be implemented and students will use this technology to complete practical assignments.

This appointment will run Sept 2, 2025 - April 17, 2026.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Must possess a current practising license as a registered dental hygienist in Nova Scotia. Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Must hold current CPR (BLS) certification. Must possess a Bachelor degree. Must have completed coursework or certificate in teaching methodology. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in preclinical and didactic teaching experience in the subject of radiology.
Salary Range/Pay Rate per the CUPE Collective Agreement
