About the Opportunity


Under the direction of the Director, Clinical Transformation, the Project Leader provides leadership and direction on operational design, enhancement initiatives, strategic planning, customer service planning, analytical reporting, performance measurement, standardization, training and risk management. This position works with considerable autonomy in collaboration with the Clinical Transformation team, and other identified stakeholders to support the improvement and sustainable delivery of Transformation activities through high level data assessment, outcomes compilation and results delivery with a focus on safety, quality and customer service.


Specific Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Planning and System Performance

  • Understands Clinical Transformation's diverse business requirements and is independently responsible to lead the development and execution of strategic, operational and front line plans that support NSHA's Strategic Plan and direction, in collaboration with the Clinical Transformation team. A focus on safety, quality, customer service, and continuous improvement is key to this role.
  • Collaborates with the Transformation Team to set goals and objectives for the portfolio to support both the NSHA and mandate of the Health Transformation Office.
  • Recognizes and escalates issues that have the potential to impact significantly on customers or our ability to provide safe, quality patient care.


Quality Service Delivery

  • Conducts in-depth assessments on key Transformation activities through analytical assessment of reports obtained from various sources. Compiles information and assesses complex variables and recommends actions for change and service improvement, including alternate service provision (ex. Contracts). The position implements changes as requested.
  • Facilitates the development of provincial policies and processes while engaging the Transformation Team and other applicable stakeholders.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of initiatives that result in improved quality of service and delivery as assigned.


Engagement, Visible Leadership, Partnerships and Relationships

  • Understands the needs of customers and their goals in order to formulate strategies and solutions that satisfy diverse business requirements.
  • Leads group conversations, presentations, and training sessions as required with the goal of providing professional development and plan development guidance.

About You


We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • University Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
  • Lean training or certification preferred.
  • Change management experience or training preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare systems preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in customer service, experience in information systems and health care informatics is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various interdisciplinary stakeholders required
  • Experience initiating, leading, and managing a wide range of complex projects, initiatives, organizational change, stakeholder teams/working groups/committees, etc.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; experience with building and maintaining effective working relationships with a diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion; proven record of success working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated confidence and experience introducing new innovative concepts and solutions founded on sound reason to assist with the transformation of the organization over time; demonstrated understanding of strategic vs operational planning
  • Highly self-motivated and change oriented; ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in priorities
  • Advanced computer skills; significant experience using Microsoft Office; knowledge and experience using SAP, Microsoft Publisher an asset
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skills with ability to interpret statistical data, problem solve, and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks

  • Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • December 2024 - December 2026
  • Approximately 24 months
  • Schedule is Monday - Friday, work hours flexible
  • Position is eligible to participate in our work from home program

Compensation and Benefits


$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
