About the Opportunity

Referral Officer is integral to this process and team; they are the first point of entry for all Neurology subspecialty referrals within Central Zone. A Referral Officer is essential to coordinating referrals received into a single centralized referral wait list. The Referral Officer role is critical in nature. As such, attention to detail is required to ensure the appropriate triage of referrals and that all relevant patient care information is available to facilitate the consult visit with the physician or clinician regarding assessment and/or treatment options.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 required
  • One-year post-secondary medical office administration program
  • Medical Terminology required
  • Two (2) years' related experience required
  • Recent clerical experience in a hospital setting with Neurology experience required
    • If no applicants demonstrate the above qualification; consideration may be given to applicants who have clerical experience in a hospital setting
  • Work experience in an ambulatory setting
  • Well-developed organization and priority setting skills; able to multi-task
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills dealing with staff, patients, and families
  • Working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage stressful situations
  • Ability to integrate and utilize information from referral sources and other health care professionals

Hours

  • Permanent Full Time; 70 Hours Bi-Weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$23.24 - $26.77 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
