About the Opportunity


The Registered Cardiology Technologist Advanced performs the following noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests: Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring (Holter Scanning/Interpretation Event Loop Recorder), and physician-assisted Exercise Tolerance Testing (Stress Testing). The Technologist prepares patients for ambulatory monitoring which is a non-invasive monitoring device worn by patients for 24 hours (Holter) or several weeks (Loop). The Technologist is responsible for preparing patients requiring stress and tilt table testing, performing stress tests under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist. The Registered Cardiology Technologist Advanced will also be responsible for precepting/mentoring all new learners in the department.


This will be a multi-site position between the Halifax Infirmary, Victoria General, and the Mumford Professional Centre. The Halifax Infirmary is the home site.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 plus a two-year BCIT program or acceptable equivalent required
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manual dexterity required
  • Demonstrates independent judgment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 7 months (Assignment length subject to change)
  • Shifts include​​​​​​ evenings/nights, weekends and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

$28.71 - $31.91 Hourly
