About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Director, The Health Services Manager is responsible for the management, planning and coordination at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital site, including daily operations of people-centered programs within and external to the Northern Zone, NSHA. Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department. The Health Services Manager is also responsible for providing the leadership required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum. Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviors. This position also requires a high degree of initiative and change leadership ability. The ability to travel freely in the Zone is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Masters in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration is preferred
  • Must be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) or eligible for registration
  • BCLS certification according to minimal organizational standards
  • Five to seven years clinical experience
  • Previous leadership/management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating and managing multiple projects
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees to achieve excellence in patient care
  • Demonstrated fiscal and human resource management
  • Requires a high level of sound judgement, initiative, and self-direction
  • Capable of analytical and creative decision making
  • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Successful applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Flexibility outside of regular business hours required

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
