About the Opportunity

The Perioperative Quality Leader under the direction of the Perioperative Director and Physician Co-Leads provides quality leadership for all services provided by the Perioperative Program. This role promotes fundamental improvements to quality management practices thereby enhancing overall quality performance. This position strives to uphold Nova Scotia's Health (NSH) Strategic Plan and operational goals. The position will work with the co-leadership and multidisciplinary teams to guide and implement process changes in support of quality and continuous quality improvement.

Site will be determined based on the location of the successful applicant.
Regular travel to other sites, primarily within Northern Zone.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Graduate degree in a health specific field and/or equivalent in education and experience
• Undergraduate degree in Health Care discipline. Masters degree an asset.
• Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organization required
• Minimum 5 Years Perioperative experience or management experience in a Perioperative care setting required
• Understands quality, quality systems, and innovations in quality and patient care.
• Understands Perioperative procedures, complications and patient population
• Understands and has ability to apply and coach others in the application of continuous quality improvement
• Demonstrates a high degree of independent decision making, creativity, self-direction, motivation, change management and team building and leadership skills
• Understands and has ability to apply and coach others in the application of regulatory requirements
• Excellent project management and coaching skills, and ability to teach/transfer skills to all team members
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective presentation skills and group leadership skills
• Demonstrates abilities as a change agent, will be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization and contribute as a team member
• High analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Experience in information management and demonstrated computer skills
• Skills in operational and strategic planning
• Helps promote a respectful workplace environment
• Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-Time (100%) position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Travel between sites required

Compensation and Benefits

$40.15 - $50.19 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
