About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of Environmental Services, Laundry Services, Security and Porter Services for Nova Scotia Health as well as ensuring a clean, safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors. The Supervisor collaborates with the Assistant Manager in the planning and development of standardized practices and initiatives to ensure they are operationalized.

Travel to various sites will be required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Two years supervisory experience is required; experience within a health care setting is preferred.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in the theories and principles of cleaning methods, practices and techniques; experience with Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all management and staff. Ability to asses and anticipate problems/issues on individual day unites in relation to services provided, as well as make proper and prompt decisions and take action when required. Emphasis on the ability to utilize leadership, motivational and development skills. Must be innovative and self-motivated and able to maintain strong inter-departmental relationships.
  • Travel to other sites is required and must have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long assignment, Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 18 months
  • This is a 3:00pm to 11:00pm shift

Compensation and Benefits

$29.90 - $37.38 Hourly
