About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Access and Flow, the Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, collaborative practice model for patient care units, and to manage the movement of patients throughout the sites.

Working collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, physicians' offices, community partners, and service providers, the manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome, and to better support patient flow.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health-related field required.
  • Master's degree an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in nursing or other allied health profession.
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate level computer skills (MSOffice; Patient Flow Tableau system; & the ED tracker system, and SharePoint). Experience with Tableau an asset
  • Strong understanding of bed management, utilization and patient flow methodologies as they relate throughout the continuum of care
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated evidence of innovative leadership and critical thinking, with proven ability to foster a collaborative team approach to decision making
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement tools and methodologies as it relates to system thinking as it involves public/culture, staff as clients, staff as employees, physicians, other government sectors, contracted services, etc.
  • Strong process knowledge and process thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and engage others within an inter-professional practice environment.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Full-time Long Assignment, 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 15 months
  • Shifts include evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

$42.94 - $57.05 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
