About the Opportunity

The Advisor provides coordination/guidance and administrative support to the Medical Education Program in addition to fostering and developing relationships with regional physicians with faculty appointments. This position provides additional support to the Medical Site Leaders within the Hospital and other individuals, committees or working groups as assigned.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program required, Undergraduate degree is a related field an asset
  • Minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience, providing administrative management support and office coordination at senior level, preferably within a healthcare or medical education environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high degree of tact, judgement and confidentiality
  • Ability to foster excellent relationships and coordinate with the various stakeholders which include medical students, residents, faculty, Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dalhousie University administration.
  • Demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of office practices and technologies and with information and meeting technologies
  • Experience utilizing technology in meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, management, staff and community partners in a pleasant and efficient manner
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Detail-orientated with ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality and accuracy of work
  • Ability to competently work independently as well as cohesively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated work ethic and attendance record
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long full-time assignment, 75 hrs bi-weekly (18 month duration)

Compensation and Benefits

$25.13 - $31.61 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
