If you're an experienced IT Program Manager with a proven track record of lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data architecture, data management, governance and migration/conversion projects, ensuring they meet established time, cost, and quality standards, we want you on our team!

Role Overview: The IT Program Manager will manage key technical project deliverables, milestones and program/IT architectural governance processes as part of a large-scale program (Acorn), from planning and inception to final implementation.

Location: This role is hybrid and may require travel to our Markham office as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data architecture, data management, governance and migration/conversion projects, ensuring they meet established time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Act as a liaison between the data architecture team and other SE division/business area, effectively managing and prioritizing external tasks and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including integrated project plans, charters, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring they are escalated appropriately and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, facilitating communication and effective problem-solving among cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous process improvements within the project management governance framework and EDA environments.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of SE data initiatives, aligning project objectives with business goals.
  • Review and report on project status, issues and priorities, planning, budgets, risk and quality management, and deciding on carrying out corrective action, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Minimum 10 years of technical program management experience, with a focus on large-scale, high-impact projects in technology or healthcare industries.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Great to Have: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience leading or managing IT architectural planning, governance and implementation phases
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex programs that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to provide leadership to a diverse group of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders in confrontational situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; and
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for nurturing relationships across teams and disciplines.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Agile/Hybrid (Waterfall/Agile, RAPID) environment and delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (i.e. Confluence, Jira, etc.);
  • Experience with team collaboration tools (i.e. Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Jabber, Slack etc.).

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of data architectural processes and methods, data management and data governance
  • Data Management and Analytics: good understanding in data modeling, warehousing, and database management systems - experience with big data technologies and data processing frameworks.
  • Experience with APIs, micro services architecture, and the ability to understand and oversee integration, conversion or migration projects.
  • Data Security and Compliance: knowledge of data security protocols, data encryption, and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) that affect data management practices.
  • Machine Learning/AI: Basic understanding of machine learning models and artificial intelligence applications can be an asset, particularly in organizations focusing on data-driven decision-making and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for data visualization and reporting.
