Responds to callers via all designated channels (telephone, chat and other communication platforms): assesses needs, offers appropriate clinical options, identifies health care and community resources and/or provides information to assist the patient to choose an appropriate intervention for their symptoms and/or health situation within metrics established by Operations. Achieves/exceeds the established performance metrics and quality standards as evidenced by adhering to established call center metrics, service delivery standards and company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating competent nursing skills/nursing process in the assessment of callers with unanticipated illness/trauma or to address health information inquiries. Accountable for ensuring patient safety by following established procedures and industry best practices as deemed appropriate by the organization. Triaging patients utilizing appropriate call process and clinical guidelines. Ensuring that all information given is appropriate, current, relevant, and follows approved guidelines.
  • Communicates and builds rapport with all clinical team members
  • Documenting accurately and completely all relevant information and instructions.
  • Providing health teaching as it relates to the patient’s reason for the contact
  • Resolving complaints or escalates issue to the Clinical Team Leader using principles of risk management.
  • Sharing health and nursing related knowledge with other staff members
  • Performs within the scope of nursing practice and does not practice beyond his/her level of knowledge or expertise
  • Maintain privacy and security of patient health information through all interactions and channels

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification through IBCLC
  • Minimum 1 year Lactation Consultant experience
  • Minimum 1 year L&D, Postpartum or NICU experience
  • Previous experience as an IBCLC preferred
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. (subject to change according to operational nee
  • Tech Savvy
  • You need to have a secure dedicated home office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
