The Manager, Employee Experience - Retention & Inclusion is a new and exciting role. Reporting to the Director, Culture & Employee Experience, you will lead the research, design, iteration, and implementation of projects and programs resulting in improved employee engagement and retention to make work great at SE Health. You will utilize client partnership, operational business acumen, and expertise in organizational development, psychology, design thinking, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) to design and evaluate human-centered approaches to the employee experience throughout the organization. With an assigned portfolio of clients, your will collaborate directly with leaders on strategic projects designed to reduce employee turnover and retain caring staff who feel included, engaged, and loved. You are a curious and personable data enthusiast who deeply understands workplace culture, project management, and change management. You enjoy analyzing and discussing metrics to create people solutions for internal clients across multiple business lines as a business partner to your assigned clients. Using human-centered user experience (UX) design models, you will develop and evaluate new and inclusive HR approaches with a friendly cross-functional group of colleagues focused on understanding why employees join, stay, and exit the organization. This includes creating retention action plans tailored to business unit goals, EX journey roadmaps, developing user personas, reviewing the live and digital experience of being an employee at SE Health, and analyzing people data to regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs). You will seek out innovative and inclusive approaches to support all employees along their workplace journey in alignment with our People Everything strategy. We are aiming to have all this role start in April. This is a hybrid role based in Ontario for in-person meeting attendance.

About the Team:

The Employee Experience (EX) Team is part of the HR department and works collaboratively to making work great at SE Health! We design strategic and proactive people initiatives to take excellent care of our employees, so that they can continue to provide outstanding and loving care to our healthcare clients across Canada. Our design focus areas include: employee experience, onboarding, retention, diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I), change management, performance optimization, and retention. The EX team generates fresh ideas and data-informed people designs to ensure that all employees view SE Health as the best workplace they've had. This requires ongoing, intentional, and collaborative workforce planning along with creative thinking to provide employees with flexible scheduling, meaningful work, supportive leaders and colleagues, competitive benefits & compensation, learning & growth opportunities, work life balance and more. What You'll Work On:

  • This leadership career opportunity:
  • Leads the design, communication, and administration of EX programs, projects, tools and training that optimizes staff retention to support business units. Uses data and UX design to improve employee engagement results. Projects focus on: employee recognition, onboarding & offboarding, town halls, leadership activities, employer
  • Branding, DE&I, retention, performance optimization, leadership training, people metric dashboards, and surveys. This role plays a lead role in developing a retention strategy, a diversity program, and various workforce tools to support the full employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinates and operationalizes assigned DE&I initiatives and partnerships for an inclusive organization for everyone. This includes initiatives related to equity deserving groups that are historically underrepresented. Uses an anti-oppression lens to embed DE&I practices so that the whole SE Health community has opportunities to learn and thrive together in alignment with SE Health's strategic goals. Directly supports the Diversity Council.
  • Collaborates with various teams and leaders to plan, support, and monitor EX initiatives, including analyzing data and making research and data-based recommendations tailored to optimize employee performance and to address both business and employee needs.
  • Creates new employee experience strategies to deeply explore the employee voice to create programs and tools that are inclusive and aligned with our workplace culture leading to improved KPI results. Drafts inclusive employee communications and make recommendations on communications strategies with the marketing team to improve program awareness and the overall employee experience for workers. Supports and partners with various teams to create employer branding tools and initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships across the organization to identify and share best practices in EX driven by data to enhance our people processes and strategies. Devise various approaches to help increase data mindsets and capability within the HR team and beyond.
  • Develops change management mechanisms and EX frameworks to evolve a dedicated and agile workforce with increased employee comfort, flexibility, and change adoption. Program outcomes will be crafted to meet business objectives integrating human motivation and behavioural change concepts.
  • Designs tools and projects to refine and evaluate an outstanding onboarding experience and supports a smooth offboarding process with pulse surveys and exit & stay interviews. Prepares dashboards and summaries for KPIs including turnover and engagement. Utilizes data from the EX program to support leaders with retention action planning.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree completion in a relevant field (or relevant combination of work experience and professional development).
  • 5 years of HR management experience. Experience includes in depth organization-wide project management and change management experience with a focus on people metrics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience leading DE&I strategies and metrics in the workplace and/or in the community.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively convey messaging and deliver coaching and training. Strong relationship building skills to address situations with empathy, respect, and professionalism. Resourceful and able to deal positively with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work productively independently in a fast-paced environment that requires sound judgement with some decision-making on sensitive issues. Detail-oriented and able to manage time accurately to prioritize work across multiple projects.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS FOR THE IDEAL PROFILE:

  • Familiarity with the not-for-profit or healthcare sector is helpful and nice to have in this role.
  • Management or supervisory experience is very useful in the role to relate and advise leaders. Currently, this is an individual contributor role.
