We are currently seeking an experienced Nutrition and Housekeeping Manager for a new long-term care facility in the heart of Kamloops, B.C. The Nutrition and Housekeeping Manager is responsible for managing the food service, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance services for the 100 senior residents.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages the food service operation to ensure compliance to food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards
• Hires, trains and directs food service staff regarding food presentation, cost control, quality and cash handling
• Responsible for ordering, inventory, menu development and production planning
• Manages the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance services for the facility
• Monitors and verifies timecards, payroll and accounting documentation through web-based systems
• Follows Union seniority and scheduling standards and policies accordingly
• Provides overall direction and manages performance for 4 Supervisors and 25+ staff
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Client management, residents, colleagues and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
• Degree or diploma in Nutrition Management is required
• Previous supervisory or management experience in food service is required
• Previous experience in long-term or healthcare is a definite asset
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping, laundry and light maintenance requirements is preferred
• Menu management, balancing budgets and working with assigned operational costs
• Must know Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required
