The Physiotherapist is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.

As a Physiotherapist your typical day will impact the following ways:

• Providing clinical physiotherapy treatment including assessment, problem identification, establishing treatment goals, appropriate treatments and re-evaluation of residents

• Collaborating as a member of an interdisciplinary team on recommendations for treatment to ensure quality resident care.

• Liaising with physicians, other health professionals and resident's families regarding resident's care and progress.

• Educates residents and their families in aspects of physiotherapy treatment, as applicable.

• Assigning components of treatment to care aides by supervising, instructing, observing and monitoring treatment provided to residents to ensure the resident care plan is carried out and appropriately implemented.

• Promoting awareness of good body mechanics to team members, residents, and families by methods such as modeling and conducting presentations; acts as a resource to team members, residents and/or families by providing information and answering questions related to physiotherapy and physiotherapy-related issues.

• Providing demonstration of procedures, instruction, orientation and feedback to physiotherapy students, interns or residents during their clinical practicum, as applicable.

• Attending relevant resident care conferences and communicates pertinent information.

• Maintaining resident records, clinical outcome measures, and statistical data in accordance with department, facility and professional standards.

• Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of physiotherapy services.

• Participating in interdisciplinary, departmental and professional development to remain current with evidence-based physiotherapy practice.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Must haves:

  • Graduation from an approved school of Physiotherapy.
  • Current full registration with the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario and eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants
