Southbridge Care Homes owns and operates several long-term care and retirement homes throughout many urban and rural areas across Ontario.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Services Consultant to deliver support and clinical expertise to our portfolio of LTC and Retirement homes. Reporting to the Vice President of Long-term care and Retirement, the Consultant will have the opportunity to visit each Southbridge Care Home and provide consultative support on a routine basis.

The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and passion for senior care by delivering high-quality leadership support to our homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the laundry, housekeeping, and facilities program for our homes, including assistance in hiring and performance management of team members.
  • Supervising third-party contractors to ensure work meets our requirements and standards.
  • Input into departmental budgets and inventory as required, including purchasing of supplies and equipment.
  • Assistance with the development and revision of policies and procedures within the department, and leading new initiatives and projects.
  • Oversight and assistance of quality control of services and products provided/ produced by departmental staff.
  • Oversight of the Homes safety program including preventative maintenance schedules
  • Maintaining records, statistics, and reports in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines.
  • Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Environmental Services Certificate in a recognized program.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Familiarity with the FLTCA, 2021 and the RHRA regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Demonstrated experience with building maintenance and upkeep.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project and time management and communication skills
  • A reliable vehicle is required as travel throughout Ontario is required.
