FULL - TIME LAUNDRY AIDE - Extendicare London

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines.
Available opportunities: evening shift 4pm -10 pm, rotating weekends, 10 shifts, bi weekly, subject to change, cross training within the service support department mandatory as you may be required to work in other roles within our department
What you'll be doing
• Processing all house linens, washing, drying and placing linen on carts for delivery to units
• Processing of resident's personal laundry including washing and drying
• Continue processing other linens during shift such as isolation, dietary and housekeeping linens as necessary
• Cleaning of laundry equipment - i.e. removal of lint from dryers
• Labelling of residents personal clothing
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety etc.
• Participates in staff meetings as assigned, attends in service education programs and completes all mandatory education as assigned.
• Collaborates with other departments in such tasks as ensuring residents clothing items are delivered to correct room, assisting in locating miss placed items, etc.
What you bring
• Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (non-slip soles and enclosed) as you will be handing considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
