The Social Worker provides high-level social/clinical needs assessments and care to clients who are affected by poverty, addiction, mental health and housing issues. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker will provide intensive therapeutic interventions, psycho-education and case management to clients, their family and other support systems.

THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • A starting salary range of $71,000 – $75,000
  • 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits, including up to $2,000 per benefit year for qualified mental health practitioners and up to $1,500 for massage therapy

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Social Work
  • Current registration in good standing with the OCSWSSW
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience providing clinical counselling/psychotherapy in mental health, complex trauma, addictions, and/or primary care
  • Understanding of the social determinants of health & health promotion
  • Willingness to work with people of diverse backgrounds with an inclusive and anti-oppressive lens

EXTRAS TO TELL US ABOUT

  • Knowledge of collaborative decision making models as well as strength-based and empowerment based philosophy of community development
  • Working knowledge of cultural, social, and demographic patterns relating to priority populations
  • Knowledge of and commitment to community health and development
  • Experience in developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating groups
  • Experience with any of the following modalities: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT); Child-Parent Psychotherapy; Child-Parent Interaction Therapy
  • Experience with Office 365 & Telus Practice Solutions Suite (EMR)
  • French and other language skills are considered an asset in supporting the communities we serve
