Innovation & Affordable Housing Intern (Masters Student Placement)
Term: May - August 2025 (Full-Time Placement)
About SE Health:
SE Health is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to reimagining health care and housing to support people in aging well at home and in their communities. We are seeking a motivated and passionate summer intern to contribute to our Innovation and Affordable Workforce Housing initiatives. This role is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social impact innovation, partnership development, and the implementation of workforce housing solutions.
Position Summary
The Summer Intern will work with two teams:
Future of Aging Innovation Team - Contribute to 1-2 innovation projects focused on helping older adults age at home with dignity. Potential projects include working on our national impact challenge, supporting innovation capacity building, and scaling digital solutions.
Affordable Workforce Housing Team - Support the exploration of partnerships and the development of pilot projects aimed at improving housing access for health care workers. Potential projects include identifying resources to support staff in accessing affordable housing, and pathways to home ownership.
This role is ideal for a master's student interested in aging and innovation, community development, or affordable housing, who is eager to apply innovation practices, research, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills to real-world impact initiatives.
Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to work on and support our team with a range of exciting projects. Responsibilities will be matched with assigned projects (the following are some examples):
Conducting research and environmental scans to identify best practices and innovative models in aging in place and affordable housing.
Supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of pilot projects.
Engaging with stakeholders, industry partners, and policymakers to explore partnerships and funding opportunities.
Assisting with grant and proposal development to support housing and innovation projects.
Contributing to reports, presentations, and knowledge exchange activities to share findings with internal and external partners.
Helping to develop strategies for scaling and sustaining successful innovations.
Requirement:
Currently enrolled in a master's program in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Community Development, Public Health, Innovation Design, or a related field.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for engaging diverse stakeholders.
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Passion for social impact, aging, innovation, and/or affordable housing.
