Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, LTC Operations, this role will provide operational resource management support to Long-Term Care Homes in Ontario. The Manager, Clinical Resourcing Operations will be a key member of the Resident Care Leadership Team helping to lead clinical operations activities in the Resident Care Division and contribute to implementing Extendicare's vision for the future of seniors' care in Canada. Collaborating with Regional Directors, LTC Operations; the Manager, Clinical Resourcing Operations is accountable for driving operational excellence in the areas of clinical resourcing and retention, fostering a culture of service excellence; and building capacity to deliver optimal services to the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Long-Term Care strategic plan through efficient operationalization of clinical resourcing strategies
  • Leverage data and analytics to develop new insights into business operations and drive improvement initiatives
  • Assist Homes with provincial immigration program participation for new and existing employees
  • Assist Homes in establishing strong labour management relationships
  • Facilitate new hire orientations where required, ensuring employees are provided with a meaningful introduction to the organization
  • Offer consistent and meaningful coaching and capacity building to the LTC home leaders in resource operations and share best practices
  • Identify skills and/or knowledge gaps within team, including succession planning, union scheduling mandates and achieving identified hours of care requirements
  • In collaboration with the HR team and home leaders, support managers in establishing sustainable team engagement strategies that will empower team members to deliver their best work
  • Ensure homes comply with Extendicare and government policies, regulatory and human resource standards as it relates to resourcing operations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience in unionized environment preferred
  • Expertise in clinical operations in LTC preferred
  • Expertise in recruitment and retention strategies with demonstrated success
  • Expertise with Workday
  • Proven analytical mindset and ability to use metrics/dashboards to guide and monitor progress
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and ability to recognize and respond to changing industry trends and priorities
  • Collaborative style with ability to work with all levels of an organization and across divisions
  • Model critical thinking skills, problem-solving behaviors, advocacy and a "can do" mentality to achieve a high-performance team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta and to the Markham Head office on occasion.
